Subaru Loves to Help Gifting Events

Every February, Subaru of America partners with a national charity to aid children experiencing homelessness. They call it “Subaru Loves to Help.” In February 2024 Subaru partnered with Operation Warm, a national non-profit focused on helping children living in shelters. Together and with the help of Subaru retailers across the country, we created gifting events in which retailers donated brand-new coats, shoes, and socks to children in shelters within their local communities.

Overall Event Strategy: To make these events feel as special as possible for countless incredible children, we wanted to make the event feel as if they were going to a personalized store, getting to pick out their very own clothing items and receive one-on-one care from volunteers. The space was bright with all the Subaru Loves to branding. Signage, clothes racks, and mirrors guided the children through the space as volunteers collected their measurements ensuring a perfect fit. The children wrote their names into their jackets, something many of them had not had the opportunity to experience. Finally they signed a poster for the retailer’s showroom and received a branded goody bag to put all their new items in. Once they had their new clothes they of course had to be tested for quality where they went out to play in different activities set up by each retailer such as playing on a community playground, cornhole, and Jenga. Hundreds of successful events across the country were held resulting in providing more than 150,000 children with these brand-new necessities.
